Laborer duties and responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of a laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient
construction site while also supporting the overall project. The list of duties and responsibilities for a
laborer on any given day may include the following:
- Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures
- Digging trenches, compacting earth, and backfilling holes
- Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans
- Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties
- Additional duties as assigned by the team leader or Installer I
Solar Energy Technician Job Responsibilities
- Solar energy technician is responsible for building solar energy equipment.
- responsible for installation of systems which uses solar collectors, electrical wiring and equipment.
- responsible for installation of all systems
- responsible for understanding all technical points of equipment.
- responsible for managing stock of equipment.
- responsible for installing solar energy machine in private houses building and factories.
- cleaning and maintenance of tools and equipment
- additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolds, poles, and work on rooftops of single and multiple story homes and buildings.
- Ability to work in extreme climate environments such as hot sun, cold weather, rain, crawl spaces etc.
- Requires kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching.
- Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
- React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
- While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side.
Essential functions
Timeliness
- be early or on time to start shift.
- Return from breaks on time.
- Does not leave early unless told to clock out.

Meets production goals as set forth by project manager, team leader and installer I
Professionalism
Maintain personal bearing in times of high stress. Ability to follow directions. Personal
knowledge and growth to be able to work with little to no supervision after training.
Smoking on the jobsite is not recommended. Smoking breaks shall be limited to break times and
lunch times only. Smoking in the construction area will not be tolerated! No employees shall smoke on a
roof top or under solar panels. Never in a customer’s home. Depending on the egregiousness of the
offense it may be a 1 and done for termination. (Smoking in a customer’s nonsmoking residence)
Clothing and appearance shall be professional at all times. Scenic City Solar provides hats, winter
toboggans and summer ball caps. T-shirts with Scenic City Logo in multiple colors are also provided. You
may also have the logo placed on any appropriate clothing to be used for work or advertising.
